The portrait of Alan Turing that I painted is a tribute to a man who played a pivotal role in World War II and helped save countless lives. His genius and contributions to cryptology are undeniable, but his life was marred by tragic events. I styled the image with bright neon and orange tones to represent his revolutionary and bohemian personality. By using these colors I also wanted to draw attention to his sexual orientation and point out that he was discriminated against and punished because of his homosexuality. The portrait is meant to honor his achievements while also pointing out the injustices that have befallen him.
